![]() I just want to find a way to boot the installer, get 7 installed, and get the wifi driver working so I can do the Windows 10 upgrade and install the supported Windows 10 Boot Camp drivers afterward. It's amazing how smooth this was on my 2012 MacBook Pro and how impossible it seems to be on the 2015 model. Since the Windows 10 installer boots and installs just fine (well, mostly), I did some googling as to why the Win7 installer won't boot while the Win10 one does and I think it may be because Windows 7 can't boot from a USB 3 port? Could that be what's going on? To try to boot the Win7 install disk, I used an older MacBook Pro (a 2012 model) that supports Windows 7 to create a bootable Windows 7 USB install stick using Boot Camp Assistant and I tried booting the CD from a USB CD drive, but neither boot. I need to be able to boot the Windows 7 install disk. ![]() But with no license, it's useless of course. You’ll want to save the image as a CD/DVD (.cdr) file. It took a bit of fuckery, but eventually Win10 got installed. We attached an external DVD drive to our MacBook Pro, and using the Disk Utility app, created an image of our Windows 7 installation DVD. The Windows 10 disk lets you complete the installation even without a license key, so I went all the way just to see if it would work. I was able to get the partition created by feeding Boot Camp Assistant a Windows 10 disk for which I don't have a license. Studio Code is free and available on your favorite platform - Linux, macOS, and Windows. In order to do that, I have to find a way to get 7 installed first. Step 2: Launch Boot Camp Assistant, go to Action and click on Download Windows Support Software. Unfortunately, I can't install a newer version of Windows because I have a retail copy of 7 that I want to upgrade to 10 using the free upgrade.
